Afraid you will look too ‘Gothic’ if you wear Leather? Well here’s how to soften the look…

This season you will see leather spouting out from most clothes rails; now personally while I am happy to see this, when Personal Shopping with clients, I have noticed fear appear in clients’ eyes when they see it, with many telling me that they like the idea of leather but feel like a ‘Goth’ if they wear it.

So I want to give Leather a clean slate and show that Leather style does not have to mean ‘Goth style’!

When wearing a leather item, you can soften the leather look by teaming leather with a different style material that conveys a softer side – for example as below you could team a cute leather style skirt with a neutral soft knit jumper and nude shoes. The harshness of leather instantly softens and become more feminine and sweet.

The other thing to be aware of is your style of make up; if you want to avoid the ‘goth style’ you should ease of on a strong colour lip and avoid heavy eye-liner, instead opting for a fresh faced look with a warm glow.

Go on, give the leather look a chance!
